As we begin to share our decision to adopt with our family and friends we are delighted with the supportive responses and excitement everyone has shown us. While we are also excited about all of the wonderful events that will be taking place in the next year, we ask that everyone please take a moment to remember that our child will have a first mother.
We don’t know if our child’s first mother is pregnant yet, but if she is not pregnant yet she very soon will be. When we think of the unimaginably difficult decision our child’s first mother will soon make we wish more than anything that we could convey our gratefulness and love to her. Please keep her in your thoughts and remember that we cannot celebrate our joy and excitement without remembering the difficult times that lay ahead for our child’s first mother. We hope there is a guardian angel watching over her.
